I noticed nothing is posted on this board, so why not. The game is basically to combine two flags and see which one looks the best. Let's start with Angola and Chile.
I don't fully understand the total reason why this Wiki exists. Or who started it. But I'm of the impression a wiki should be a community effort. To add information to it and to change wrong or bad information on it. I would hope that extends to conventional thinking that we only are interested in viewing just the best versions of a persons work. What I have seen many times over are images of the current detail of a flag reduced to canton size and mounted on a Mississippi like three stripe field. This image is then repeated 40 times over in different colour combinations. One or two like this are fine by me but to see so many is very off putting. I want this site to be good. Not a dumping area that is jammed up with ill considered images no matter how much work went into mounting them here. Best Regards Alan Hardy (Rotten Ali)
Hi, I have some flags posted (Vermont and Pennsylvania) but I did that several years ago. I'd like to replace some of my flags. How do I do that?
I am working on a videogame which involves recognising flags, emblems and insignias. I've been getting public domain images from Wikipedia. I don't know much about the laws surrounding flags etc but I've noticed some of the flag images are accompanied by the text "This image shows a flag, a coat of arms, a seal or some other official insignia. The use of such symbols is restricted in many countries. These restrictions are independent of the copyright status."
I was wondering if anyone here knew much about these kinds of restrictions and whether they might apply to my situation (or whether you could point me towards any resources on this which could be useful).
I boldly set up a wordmark and favicon to replace the Wikia default icon and text-only banner. Inspired by the /r/vexillology banner, they use the maritime signal flags for the wiki name's initials "V" and "W". It's not intended to be permanent; if you have further ideas for improvement of the wiki design, or think it was better before, you are of course welcome to comment here.
Could someone help me? I live in a town with out a flag. I have came up with one for the city. What can I tell the city board to vote for the flag. Or is there web site that I can look up. There are people who think it is a good idea to have a city flag.
Currently, the vexillology wiki has the focus on USA states and DC, and the Canadian provinces and territories. What about include proposals for USA and Canada national flags, as well as some regional flags (you can't imagine the number of proposals for Cascadia and New England)?
What is wrong with the current design? KVG 1-7-13
