Ames is a city located in central Iowa, United States.

The flag is plain white bearing the city's logo. The logo is a dark green rhombus, layered below a curved blue triangle with white text reading "City of Ames Iowa". The word "Ames" is proportionally bigger than the rest of the text, especially the A. Underneath the A beares blue text reading "Caring people", "Quality programs", and "Exceptional service".

The modern Ames flag was first designed in the 1960's.
