The Actual Flag of Amur Oblast Is Official Since April 24, 2008.

The flag of the Amur Oblast is a rectangular panel divided horizontally into three stripes: red in two-thirds of the width of the panel, white wavy in one twelfth of the width of the panel and blue in one-fourth of the width of the panel.

The ratio of the width of the flag to its length is 2: 3.

Colors and Elements[]

The upper part of the banner is red, symbolizing the rich history of the Amur Oblast, labor and military feats of the Amur Oblast people.

The upper part of the red flag symbolizes the rich history of the Amur Region, the military and labor exploits of the Amur people, the spiritual and political heritage, and the potential of the Amur Oblast.

The lower blue part of the flag symbolizes the expanse of water and the power of the great Far Eastern river, which is the southern border of the Oblast.

April 16, 1999 and approved by the Law of the Amur Oblast dated April 26, 1999 No. 145-OZ [2], read:

The flag of the region is a rectangular panel with a ratio of width to its length - 2: 3.

The lower part of the flag (1/3 of its width) is blue and separated from the upper part by a silver wavy belt resembling a river wave. The width of the belt is 1/15 of the width of the flag.
