The Flag of Anzoátegui State Is Official Since June 16, 1999.

It was product of a contest expressly organized for conceive it by initiative of the Historian Maximilian Kopp Marcano and realized by the Direction of Culture of the State under conduction of Mr. Enrique Hidalgo.. The Jury, integrated too with another important representatives of the region, considered 152 projects, unanimously winning the produced by Miss Lemarys del Valle Rincones, native of Puerto La Cruz. The definitive verdict of the contest was published on May 19th, 1999 and the Anzoategui State Flag was officially established by means of Decree Nº 138 signed by Mr Alexis Rosas, Governor of the State.

Colors And Elements Edit

Light Blue: Symbolizes the skies, seas and rivers;

Yellow:  symbolize the warmth of the climate and its inhabitants

Green: Represents the all the riches of our nature.

n the center of the three strips is inserted a silhouette with the shape of the state Anzoátegui, in black frame, that symbolizes the petroleum riches of the subsoil.
