Auckland (Māori: Tāmaki Makaurau) is a large metropolitan city in the North Island of New Zealand.

The flag consists of a 1:2 ratio with two quadrants on the top and a wide quadrant on the bottom. The blue top-left quadrant features a ram horn, the red top-right quadrant features mining gear with a crossed shovel and pickaxe, and the wide white line below features a ship sailing through a thin light blue line.
History[]
From the early 1950's until 2010, the local authority for the city of Auckland used its banner of arms as its flag. The current Auckland Council does not use this flag.
