Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes was created in 2015 from the previous regions of Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes. Though no official flag has been adopted yet, multiple flags have been used. They include the region's logo on a blue field, as well as a banner of its proposed coat of arms, which quarters the symbols of its two predecessors. The latter's four quarters respectively contain a red gonfalon on yellow (Auvergne), a white cross on red (Savoy), a white lion on red (Lyonnais) and a blue dolphin on yellow (Dauphiné).[1]
