Baku (Azerbaijani: Bakı) is the capital and largest city of Azerbaijan, as well as the largest city on the Caspian Sea and in the Caucasus region.

Description[]

The flag of Baku has a blue background, with the city emblem on the centre.

Coat of Arms[]

The field of the emblem of Baku is blue, charged with three golden flames and three wavy horizontal stripes that symbolize the waters of the Caspian Sea. The flames refer to the country's nickname The Land of Fire. The field is surrounded by a thin golden contour. In the bottom part of the emblem, the black-colored area indicates the presence of petroleum.
