The flag of the region is quartered blue over white, plus two horizontal stripes, white and red The ratio is 2:3 as usual.
Coat of Arms: Square shield, the first field blue-silver divided, always with two spruces of alternating tinctures, the second red with a golden-haired knight in silver armor with a sword with a gold handle in the (heraldically) right hand and resting his left hand on a red, gold-clad shield with a silver double cross, a third field of red with a silver crossbeam and a silver crescent in the upper and a gold, six-pointed star in the lower field. In the fourth, blue field, a silver castle with one tower and an open blue gate.
