The flag of Belize is a blue background with two narrow red stripes on the top and bottom of the flag with a white disk bearing the coat of arms in the center. The red and blue represent unity of the people, the 50 olive leaves that border around the perimeter of the Coat of arms symbolize the year of 1950 when British Honduras, began its quest for Independence. The mahogany tree represents the country's economic foundation.
