The flag of Bismarck, North Dakota, is a horizontal bicolor of white and red, with a gold border. In the white part of the flag, is the word "BISMARCK", with the "A" replaced with a blue-fimbriated golden star. In the center of the flag is a big white star in front of a grain of wheat inside a blue circle, with a yellow shape coming out from it, with the word "North Dakota" in blue inside.

Symbolism[]

The large white star encircled by wheat represents Bismarck as the capital city of an agricultural state, while the horizontal ribbon represents the freeway (Interstate 94) through North Dakota, on which Bismarck is located.

2004 NAVA survey[]

The previous flag ranked 95th on the 2004 NAVA city flag survey, with a score of 3.70 out of 10, behind Toledo and ahead of Atlanta.
