The flag of Cape Verde features five unequal bands of white, red, and blue, and a circle of ten yellow five-pointed stars that are all pointing upwards. The flag was adopted on September 22nd, 1992 after the abolition of one-party rule in Cape Verde.

Meaning[]

The ten stars represent the 10 main islands of Cape Verde, the blue represents the ocean and sky, and the bands of white and red represent the road to the construction of the country. Additionally, the white stands for peace and the red stands for effort.
