The flag of the state of Colorado consists of three horizontal stripes of equal width; the top and bottom stripes are blue, and the middle stripe white. On top of these stripes sits a circular red "C", filled with a golden disk. The blue is meant to represent the skies, the gold is said to either stand for the sunshine enjoyed by the state or the gold mined traditionally in the state of Colorado, the white represents the snowcapped mountains and the red represents the ruddy colored earth (from Spanish colorado, meaning "ruddy" as well as "colored").

Colorado flag proposal by user Dio the Ludicolo. The blue represents the sky. The white represents the mountain peaks. The red represents the red clay. The eye represents the state motto, "Nil Sine Numine" (Nothing Without Providence). December 2017.

Colorado flag proposed by Ken Morton - Colorado's current state flag is well liked and is widely praised as an example of good flag design. Not by me. The chevrons of this flag represent the Rocky Mountains in winter and summer, the Red Rocks of southern Colorado and the precious metals mined in the state
