In contemporary astronomy, 88 constellations are recognized by the International Astronomical Union (IAU). A Constellation is an area on the celestial sphere in which a group of visible stars forms a perceived pattern or outline, typically representing an animal, mythological subject, or inanimate object.

The 88 constellations depict 42 animals, 29 inanimate objects, and 17 humans or mythological characters. All 88 recognized constellations do not have an officially associated flag; this article shows a list of proposed flags for each constellation.
