The flag of Crystal, Minnesota, is divided between two shades of blue, separated by a white arc. On the canton is a white 14-pointed star.
Symbolism[]
The blue represents sky and water and are associated with depth, stability, trust, loyalty, and wisdom. The white arc represents the transportation and trail systems of the city, it also symbolizes upward progress and a bold move forward. The flag of Crystal is the only one to use a 14 pointed star, according to the designer. the star also has alternating lengths for its' points. Each ray is meant to represent each one of Crystals 14 neighborhoods: Lee Park, Bassett Creek, Valley Place, Winnetka Hills, Fair, Brownwood, Welcome Park, Forest, Cavangah Oaks, Becker, Twin Oaks, Skyway, North Lions, Broadway. The star also symbolizes a guiding beacon or a shining crystal ball. This was once a popular symbol in Crystal.
