Korean: 동작구; RR: Dongjak-gu) is one of the 25 districts of Seoul, bordering the districts of Yongsan across the Han River to the north, Seocho to the east, Gwanak to the south, and Yeongdeungpo to the west.
Dongjak District (Description[]
The flag of Dongjak District is a white background with the former district logo in the center atop a text which reads "동작구" (RR: Dongjak-gu) in light blue. The logo features a stylized sunburst at the lower right of the circle, with fifteen radiating lines that create a sun-like effect. Above the sunburst, a stylized egret is positioned, its body flowing into the top half of the circle. At the base of the emblem, there are two thin horizontal white lines. The entire design is enclosed within a light blue circular frame.
Symbolism[]
The logo symbolizes the nation uniting with one mind in Dongjak-gu, a wonderful place to live where the sky meets the earth. The fifteen rays symbolize the fifteen neighborhoods within Dongjak-gu.
