El Oro's flag consists of three vertical stripes, the two equal sides in green and the center in gold, wider, three times the width of a green strip. The yellow represents the agricultural wealth and the productivity of the noble metal, and the green, the greenery of the countryside of the province and the noble aspirations of the people to achieve better goals of improvement, for culture, education, work and union.
