The Federal Dependencies of Venezuela (Spanish: Dependencias Federales de Venezuela) encompass most of Venezuela's offshore islands in the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Venezuela, excluding those islands that form the State of Nueva Esparta and some Caribbean coastal islands that are integrated with nearby states.

The flag of The Federal Dependencies of Venezuela is a horizontal triband (top to bottom) green, white and blue with a red fish in the middle of the white stripe.

Symbolism[]

  • Green: represents all the diversity of flora that exists in all the Venezuelan islands
  • White: represents peace, tranquility and the hospitality of the inhabitants of these small islands
  • Blue: represents the sea[1]
  • Red Fish: sees the islands as a source of income for the inhabitants and a financial basis for tourism and fishing[2]
