The Flag of Baja California Sur ("South Lower California") Is Official Since December 31, 2017.
The flag of the state is, like most current Mexican state flags, the coat of arms centered on a white field.
The coat of arms of Baja California Sur was adopted in 1975, a year after it became a state (it was a territory before).
One major error in the layout of the pale's order is in dispute. The state has a code to say gold should be on the left and red on the right. They have a full color coat of arms within the governmental building with the gold/red order. The Governor is pictured in front of it. The fish continue to swim clockwise so it's not a reversed photo. I understand a request is made in the code that the reverse of any made-up fabric flag should also show yellow/red on the reverse. Thus sewn two sided flag. Almost every redesign and Wikipedia's own image is shown red/gold. WARNING - THIS RED/GOLD LAYOUT IS INCORRECT. Wikipedia file image history bounces back and forth between both layouts. Each time it's not shown with the correct visual treatment of the sea shell either. None here either have the right shell to this time. Alan Hardy - January 13th, 2023.

I represented the peninsula with two rectangles with the colors from the original flag. Yellow for sand, red for earth and blue for the sea around. I also drew the shell and the fishes. Tinycop. 2017.
