Red: Represent the strength and courage of the people, as well as the traditional color of Karelian embroidery is red on white.
Blue: Represent the lakes and rivers - means greatness and beauty.
Green: Symbolizes the nature, vegetation, the main wealth of the republic - personifies hope and faith in happiness.
