Gabon, officially the Gabonese Republic, is a country on the Atlantic coast of Central Africa.
The current flag was adopted in 1960, shortly before Gabon proclaimed independence from France, replancing the previous colonial flag.

The flag of Gabon is a tricolour consisting of three horizontal green, yellow, and blue bands.
The proportions are 3:4.
Symbolism[]
The green band represents the natural resources of Gabon and its forests. The yellow band represents the Equator, which runs through the country and also symbolizes the sun. The blue band represents the sea.
