The flag of Guaínia Departament is made up of three horizontal stripes of the same width and each one is occupied by the colors yellow, blue and green.

Yellow: Symbolyzes the mineral wealth of the department, represented by gold, uranium, diamonds, amethysts and other precious stones.

Blue: Symbolyzes the water wealth, since the word Guainía in indigenous language means "Land of many waters" for the numerous and mighty rivers, pipes and lagoons that bathe its territory

Green: Symbolyzes the botanical and fauna diversity of the extensive jungles and savannas that make up the departmental territory.
