Howe is a town in Grayson County, Texas, United States.

Description[]

The flag of Howe is a red-white-blue horizontal tricolor, white band twice the width of the others, with the official logo.

History[]

The original flag was designed by former Howe Council Member Carrie Waller and adopted at the July 6, 1972 Regular City Council Meeting for the 1972 Howe Centennial celebration. It stood until the change in 2014. A return to a similar flag as the original signals that we’re not leaving behind our heritage as we move forward to a bigger and better Howe. The original flag was first flown on September 23, 1972 in the Centennial Parade and carried by Parade Grand Marshall Ray Houston.

The original flag theme was centered around Howe having the highest elevation on the railroad line between the Red River and the Gulf of America.

The top stripe is red representing the Red River and the bottom stripe is blue representing the Gulf of America. The original flag had the red and blue stripes joined together by a black vertical stripe representing the railroad. The white background represented the Texas cottonfields and centered with a gold diamond representing the City of Howe.

The 2025 design replaced the black stripe and gold diamond with the most recently adopted city logo. The new flag was adopted by the City Council at the April 15, 2025 Regular Council Meeting.[1]
