The current flag of Jackson, Mississippi, was adopted in 1993, and has gone through two flags.

Current flag (1993-present)[]

The flag is a green background with a white narrow cross. In the center of the flag is a blue circle with a white star inside fimbriated in white.

Symbolism[]

The star represents the city's status as the capital of Mississippi.
The blue field behind the star denotes the city’s position on the Pearl River.
The white cross symbolizes Jackson as the “Crossroads of the South”.

It scored a total of 7.83 on the 2004 NAVA city flag survey.

Former flag (1928-1993; unofficial)[]

Jackson, MS (1978–1993)

The former "unofficial" flag is a white background with a silhouette of the face of Andrew Jackson, with the word "1822" written on the bottom of his face. On the top and bottom are the words "JACKSON" and "MISSISSIPPI", capitalized, in blue and Arial Font.
