Jutland is a peninsula in Northern Europe that forms the mainland part of Denmark and extends into northern Germany, including Schleswig-Holstein. It stretches from the Grenen spit in the north to where the Elbe and Sude rivers meet in the southeast. Historically, Jutland as a cultural and geographical region included Southern Schleswig, with the Eider River marking its traditional southern boundary. However, the peninsula also encompasses areas beyond the Eider, such as Holstein, the former Duchy of Lauenburg, and much of Hamburg and Lübeck.
