The flag of the region is heraldic, . derived from the regional emblem by a simple transcription on a sheet in a ratio of 2: 3.

Official description: “Red-blue square leaf. In the upper pole field a Czech lion, in the lower pole field a white mining hammer on yellow shafts above two yellow crossed branches. In the upper flowing field a yellow fountain with gushing white water. In the lower flowing field, seven horizontal stripes, alternating red and white in a ratio of 7: 1: 1: 1: 1: 1: 1. The white stripes are wavy, from the upper one grows a white two-tailed crowned lion with gold armor."
