The flag of Los Ríos (The Rivers) region has been official since December 22, 2008.
It is one of the five regional flags officially adopted by some region of Chile; the others are those of Atacama, Coquimbo, Los Lagos and Magallanes.
Design[]
The flag consists of a flag with a white background, above which three undulating stripes appear in yellow, green and blue, in that order from top to bottom. These stripes are interrupted in the middle by a circle made up of twelve yellow stars.
The stars in the circle represent the twelve communes in the region. In turn, each strip represents a quality of the area. The yellow represents the vital force, the green refers to the local nature and the blue the water of the rivers and lakes.
