The provincial flag consists of four horizontal stripes. The first occupies the upper half; It is yellow in color and symbolizes agricultural, livestock, mining wealth, etc. The three remaining stripes, in the lower half, have equal spaces and from top to bottom their colors are: white that symbolizes peace, progress, science and work; blue that represents the sky, the waters of the rivers, lakes, lagoons and the same orography and the red that represents the historical events, the customs, the laws, the heroes and distinguished people of the province.
