Normandy is an administrative region in northwestern France. It was reestablished in 2015 after having been split into Lower and Upper Normandy in 1956.
The traditional flag of Normandy is a red field with two gold leopards (lions passant), derived from the attributed arms of William the Conqueror. A version with three leopards, based on the arms of Richard I of England, is also sometimes used, as is a Nordic cross flag in the same colours (named St. Olaf's cross).
