The national flag of the State of Palestine

Symbolism[]

The flag of Palestine uses the Pan-Arab colours. The origins of the flag is disputed. There is a poem that describes the Pan-Arab colours ending with "White are our deeds, black are our battles, Green are our fields, red are our swords".[1]

Design[]

Description of the flag according to Law No. (5) of 2006:

The flag of Palestine, with the four dimensions, dimensions and measurements approved by the Palestine Liberation Organization, is the official flag of the country, so that the flag is divided horizontally into three equal, parallel and identical pieces. One width, so that the top is black, the middle is white, and the bottom is green, and its width is equal to half its length, with a red triangle on the side of the pole, its base equal to the width of the flag, and its height equal to one-third of the flag’s length.
