The flag of Pocatello is the official flag of the City of Pocatello, ID. The current flag was adopted in 2017 when it replaced the old one, the old flag lasted from 2001 to 2017. The old flag was considered in the 2004 NAVA city flag survey as the worst city flag in all of North America. The Current flag is known as "Mountain Left", while the old one was known as "Proud to be Pocatello".

Current flag (2017–present)[]

The current flag of Pocatello was adopted in 2017 after a flag contest the year prior. It consists of a medium-dark cyan background. It includes 3 pinkish-red triangles with the triangle on the left being the largest. with the other triangles getting smaller. They represent the Sawtooth range, more specifically Scout Mountain, Kinport Peak, and Chinese Peak. These mountains also represent Industry, recreation, and education. The pinkish-red color is meant to represent the color of the soil the Pocatello sits on. At the top of the tallest mountain is a yellow compass rose, arranged with longer and shorter arms. the southern half of the compass with the peak of scout mountain is white. The white is supposed to represent snowy mountains. It is also suppose to represent an arrow, used by Native Americans. The entire compose rose represents the city as the transportation and trade hub for rail, road, and air, as well as the cities past, present, and future. The yellow agricultural ties of the region and the prosperity of the city. at the bottom is a thin blue line, which is meant to represent the Portneuf River.

It even appears as the icon of Pocatello's official website, and is also at the bottom of the every page at the "Quick Links" section.

Former Flag (2001–2017)[]

The first flag of Pocatello was designed by the Pocatello Chamber of Commerce in 2001. It is a white flag with blurred purplish mountains. These are suppose to represent the Sawtooth Range. The triangle on the left is twice the size of the triangle on the right, it also partially cover it. Each triangle had five notches on the viewer's right. At the bottom of the flag is some text that reads "PROUD TO BE", a yellow Sans-serif font with black edges and shadow. The text is distributed in between five red thin horizontal lines. Underneath is more text saying "POCATELLO" in red serif font with white inner edges and black outer edges with shadows. Next to the lines on the top line to the viewers right is the trademark symbol (™). It was replaced in 2017 after the Pocatello city council unveiled the new "Mountain left" flag, replacing the old flag.
