The flag of Portland, Oregon, is the official flag of the city. It was adopted in 2002, and designed by Douglas Lynch.

Current flag (2002-present)[]

The flag consists of a green field on which is placed a white four-pointed star, from which radiate blue stripes, each bordered by L-shaped yellow elements. Narrow white fimbriations separate the blue and yellow elements from each other and from the green background.

The green symbolizes its' states' trees, which surrounded the city.

The intersecting vertical and horizontal blue stripes represent the Columbia and Willamette Rivers, and the central white star signifying Portland at their confluence.

The yellow stripes repreesent the harvest of golden yellow grain, that Portland is a major exporter of wheat, and the gold of commerce.
