The flag of Reno, Nevada, is a blue background. In the center is an orange half of a circle with 3 triangles inside it, and 2 blue and white lines below it, with an 8-pointed star in the northwest corner. The flag has been changed once.
Current flag (2018-present)[]
The Current flag of Reno was adopted in 2018 after a Flag redesign contest, in order to replace the old flag. After more than 2000 designs, and 5000 votes, a winning flag was chosen.
Symbolism[]
The dark blue is meant to represent Nevada, which Reno is proud to be apart of. The bottom part of the circle is silver, which is meant to represent the silver industry, which is what lead to the rise of Reno. above is the bright blue truckee, which is not only a landmark of the area but essential drinking water to the current residents and was crucial to the early settlers of Reno. Above is the Sierra mountains, which are not just a tourist destination in Reno, but also a provider of natural resource to the area. They are outlined by the color gold, which represents the desert which reno calls home. In the top left corner is the star that can be found on the Reno Archway, a symbol of unifications among its' citizens.
First flag (1959-2018)[]
The first flag of Reno was a blue flag. on the left side of the map is a white map of Nevada, with a star on it. the star marks the location of Reno in the state. next to the flag the the cities name in large bold white letters. The flag lasted until the new one was adopted in 2018.
