The Flag of Samara Oblast Is Official Since September 22, 1998.

The flag of the Samara oblast is a rectangular panel of three equal horizontal stripes: the upper - red, middle - white and lower - blue. In the middle of the flag is the Coat of Arms of the Samara oblast, equal in height to two-thirds of the width of the flag. The ratio of the width of the flag to its length is 2: 3.

Since ancient times, white color in Russia has represented nobility and frankness, blue - fidelity, honesty, impeccability, chastity, red reminded of courage, courage, generosity, love.

The color of the flag of the oblast repeats the arrangement of the colors of the Samara banner - a historical relic of Samara, Russia and Bulgaria.
