The current flag scored 5.14 in the survey, and was ranked as the 35th almost good flag, behind Albany, New York.
Former and first flag (1900-1940)[]
The flag is the same as the current flag but with no yellow border and "SAN FRANCISCO" word, and the phoenix and the motto being in the center of the flag.
