The flag of Seattle is the official flag of the city of Seattle. The first flag was adopted in 1990 and hasn't changed since. The flag has been criticized for for breaking conventional rules for good flag design. it's one of the few S.O.A.B.S (Seal on a bed sheet) Flags that incorporates the city seal in a unique way.
Current flag (1990-Present)[]
The flag of Seattle is teal flag, on the top left corner of the flag are waves that seem to be flowing towards the middle of the flag. In the middle of the flag is a seal, the seal is surrounded by teal branches wrapping around a single line in a circle. The seal contain the logo of Seattle. The teal image of a Indian is a homage to Chief Seattle, an Suquamish and Duwamish Indian chief who was praised by his people, and created a healthy relationship with the colonialists. The city of Seattle was named after him. There are also two partially curved line on top and bottom of the picture of Chief Seattle. These form a stylized "S" when combined. There are also two lines of text. The top text reads "CITY OF GOODWILL", the cities nickname. The bottom text reads "SEATTLE", the city's name and the name of chief Seattle. Both texts are in a teal color with a stylized font. There are also two teal circles at the beginning and the end of the first text.
