Korean: 서대문구; RR: Seodaemun-gu) is one of the 25 districts of Seoul, bordering the districts of Eunpyeong to the north, Mapo to the southwest, Jung to the southeast, and Jongno to the east.
Seodaemun District (Description[]
The flag of Seodaemun District is a light blue background with the district's logo in the center atop a text which reads "서대문구" (RR: Seodaemun-gu) in black.
Symbolism[]
The logo features the Independence Gate, which serves as the iconic symbol of Seodaemun-gu. Surrounding the Independence Gate are two round ovals that represent the unity and patriotism of the local residents. Additionally, the nine rays of sunlight shining over the gate symbolize the progressive development of Seodaemun-gu. The use of green, the color of Seodaemun-gu, reflects the area’s pleasant environment.
