Seongdong District (Korean: 성동구; RR: Seongdong-gu) is one of the 25 districts of Seoul, bordering Dongdaemun to the north, Gwangjin to the east, Gangnam to the south across the Han River, and Jung, Jongno, and Yongsan to the west.

Description[]

The flag of Seongdong District is a white background with the district's logo in the center atop two texts that reads "성동구" in black and "Seongdong-Gu" in gray.

Symbolism[]

The rainbow, formed by water, serves as the symbol of the district that boasts the most waterfront areas in Seoul. The seven colors of the rainbow, flowing like water, represent the close bond and harmony among all residents of Seongdong-gu, as well as a strong progression toward the future.
