The flag of the Republic of Somaliland is used by a self-declared state in the Horn of Africa, considered by most states to be part of Somalia. It was adopted on October 14, 1996 and contains the colors of green, white, and red, with a black star located in the centre. On the green stripe, there is the Shahada in white script.
