Blue represents the Pacific Ocean while white symbolizes peace. The four stars in the flag represent the four islands that form Sonsorol. These stars also represent the Southern Cross constellation, which our ancestors used as their navigation guide to find the islands. The red canoe on the flag represents the transportation means our ancestors used to discover our islands and its importance in our everyday lives.
