South Asia, also known as the Indian Subcontinent, is a region located in southern Asia consisting of Afghanistan (sometimes assigned to Central Asia), Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Currently, the continental region does not have an official flag that represents the continent and its people.
South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC)[]
The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is the regional intergovernmental organization and geopolitical union of states in South Asia. Its member states are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. SAARC comprises 3% of the world's land area, 21% of the world's population and 5.21% (US$4.47 trillion) of the global economy, as of 2021.
