The Flag of Volyn Oblast Is Official Since November 4, 1997 And Modified in March 16, 2004, the flag changed the aspect ratio of the flag from 5:7 to 2:3.
The flag is a red cloth (more precisely, the color of ripe cherry) with an aspect ratio of 2: 3. In the center there is a white (silver) equal cross, which touches the edges of the flag. The cross is similar in shape to the Scandinavian one. In the upper right corner is depicted one of the historical crosses of Volhynia dating from the 15th-18th centuries (the so-called clawed cross).
The author of the flag is the head of the Volyn Regional Society of Local History Gennady Bondarenko..
