Yeongdeungpo District (Korean: 영등포구; RR: Yeongdeungpo-gu) is one of the 25 districts of Seoul, bordering Yangcheon to the west, Gangseo to the northwest, Guro to the southwest, Dongjak to the southeast, Geumcheon to the south, and Mapo and Yongsan to the northwest across the Han River.

Description[]

The flag of Yeongdeungpo District is a white background with the district's logo in the center atop a text which reads "영등포구" (RR: Yeongdeungpo-gu) in gray.

Symbolism[]

The logo represents the first initial of Yeongdeungpo-gu, "ㅇ" (ieung), as well as the "O" in the international symbols "O, X" (where "O" means right and "X" means wrong), and the "O" in English for "OK," illustrating a future where everything is achievable in Yeongdeungpo-gu. The blue oval symbolizes the strong image and central location of Yeongdeungpo-gu, showcasing its resilience and dynamism. The green-blue-green stripe on the left side of the oval represents a pleasant, eco-friendly environment, symbolizing blooming buds and the blue Han River. It encapsulates a vision of a future where the district office, residents, and businesses work together to make Yeongdeungpo-gu the best it can be.
