The symbols of Zenica-Doboj Canton are prescribed by Law Zakom o izmjenama i dopunama Zakona o grbu i zastavi Zeničko-dobojskog kantona, adopted by the Canton Assembly on 21 June 2000 and published on 21 August 2000 in the Canton official gazette Službene novine Zeničko-dobojskog kantona, No. 12.

The flag of Zenica-Doboj Canton is tricolor, green-white-red, with a white ribbon of double width and with the coat of arms in it touching the other two ribbons. The coat of arms in the blue field is the golden crown of the Kotromanići dynasty above ten white six-pointed stars arranged in a circle.

The first symbols of Zenica-Doboj Canton are prescribed in Law Zakon o grbu i zastavi Zeničko-dobojskog kantona, adopted on 30 July 1997 by the Canton Assembly and published on 18 August 1997 in Službene novine Zeničko-dobojskog kantona, No. 11, with effect on the same day.

The former flag is rectangular tricolour, horizontally divided into three fields, the upper half is green, the central part is white and covers two sixths of the width and the lower part is red covering one-sixth of the flag's width. In the centre of the flag's length is set the coat of arms of Zenica-Doboj Canton.
